- You must be 16 years or older to use the bouldering wall. Exceptions to this are any of our youth and team climbers.
- Bouldering is climbing without a rope, every fall is a ground fall which could result in serious injury.
- To reduce the risk of injury follow these guidelines:
- Down climb instead of dropping
- Make sure your landing zone is clear
- Use a spotter and proper falling techniques
- If unsure of anything ask a staff member
- Never sit or stand underneath the bouldering wall. Climbers may fall unexpectedly, so stay at least 6 feet from the wall when not climbing.
- Proper fall techniques can reduce the risk of injury. Proper fall technique includes:
- Staying relaxed. Keep arms and legs slightly bent to absorb fall shock.
- Do not use your hands to break your fall
- Do not attempt to land standing up.
- Keep your knees soft and always roll onto your back and butt.
- Bouldering routes are rated differently than top rope routes. Using the V-scale routes begin with V0. The higher the number (V3, V5, V7, etc) the harder the route.
- Do not top off the route. Always down climb before following proper fall techniques.
- No food or drink are allowed on the mats.
- Children are not allowed to play on the mats. Should this occur please let a staff member know.
- Remember, bouldering grades are subjective to each climber. Try any route that looks fun to you!
